2024 MBNA Chester Metric Marathon

Join us at the MBNA Chester Metric Marathon - 6th October 2024

The MBNA Chester Metric Marathon is the UK's original Metric Marathon (26.6km) and forms part of the MBNA Chester Marathon weekend which won the UK's best marathon 3 years in a row. It's a great challenge for half marathon runners and an ideal stepping stone if you're aiming for a full marathon in the future. This event Sells Out every year, enter early to avoid disappointment, especially if you are after the 2024 Chester Triple Medal! You won't want to miss the amazing race day atmosphere.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry, which is why we have partnered with the West Cheshire Foodbank to ask all race participants to bring along an item of canned food to donate at our collection point, near Help Desk, on race day – every can helps!

The event boasts a lively city centre start and finish, with a route that passes all Chester's iconic landmarks, then heads out into the Cheshire countryside, where they will meet up with the full marathon runners, returning to Chester along the banks of the River Dee for an unforgettable finish and all the enthusiasm you could ask for from the Cestrian supporters who line the course to cheer you on.

Standard entry:

Late entry:

£54.00     From 30th September 2024

Once you have entered you can transfer your place to another runner, however you cannot transfer to any other event or defer to another year and there are no refunds. The minimum age on race day is 18.

Under UK Athletics Rules - UKA Race licence number TBC 

If you decide you no longer want to take part and want to cancel your entry into the event, as per our terms and conditions your race place is non refundable and we do not offer deferrals. 

You can always transfer your race place to someone else, free of charge any time before the event, by using the official transfer process outlined in your entry confirmation email. Race places are not transferable between different entry types, or different events or years.

If you enter as Green Runner and wish to transfer your place, the new runner will also become a Green Runner. They will not be able to change this.

If we, as the event organiser, have to make the decision to postpone or cancel our event(s), we will make every reasonable effort to notify you and your race place will automatically be deferred free of charge, to the next scheduled race date for that event.
