Event Details

The 2023 MBNA Chester Metric Marathon is now SOLD OUT

You can join our waiting list for a place. The chances of a place becoming available are very small. As much as we would like to accommodate every runner, we are bound by the course limits to ensure everyone has the best possible experience. Finding a runner who is willing to transfer their place to you, will remain your best chance of running in the 2023 MBNA Chester Metric Marathon.

If you don't want to miss out on running with us in October, are still looking to complete the 2023 Chester Triple Series, and capable of completing a full marathon distance (26.2 miles), you can still enter the MBNA Chester Marathon here

If you enter the full Marathon, you will not be able to transfer down to the Metric Marathon or use your Marathon race number to run the Metric Marathon route.

Join us at the MBNA Chester Metric Marathon - 8th October 2023

The MBNA Chester Metric Marathon is the UK's original Metric Marathon (26.6km) and forms part of the MBNA Chester Marathon weekend which won the UK's best marathon 3 years in a row. It's a great challenge for half marathon runners and an ideal stepping stone if you're aiming for a full marathon in the future. We also host the England Athletics Age Group Masters Championships for the MBNA Chester marathon on the same day. You won't want to miss the amazing race day atmosphere.

The event boasts a lively city centre start and finish, with a route that passes all Chester's iconic landmarks, then heads out into the Cheshire countryside, where they will meet up with the full marathon runners, returning to Chester along the banks of the River Dee for an unforgettable finish and all the enthusiasm you could ask for from the Cestrian supporters who line the course to cheer you on.

Before race day you'll receive:

  • Access to training plans to support your running journey
