The 2021 MBNA Chester Mini Marathon is approximately one mile and starts and finishes at the main MBNA Chester Marathon start. It is conducted wholly within Chester Racecourse.
Are you ready to become a Mini Marathon Marvel?
The Mini Marathon will start at 10:30 on 3rd October, shortly after the MBNA Marathon and Metric Marathon have started.
The Mini Marathon is open to anyone wanting to run, however, it is aimed primarily at children. Places are limited but the event is open to all. Parents, guardians and grandparents are also welcome to enter.
If you wish to run with your child, you must also enter yourself. This is to ensure that the number of people on course is safe for all ages.
Each Mini Marathon participant will be given a souvenir race T-shirt* and race number, with all finishers receiving a bespoke medal, bottle of water and a treat.
Numbers and T-shirts must be collected from the Help Desk at the main MBNA Chester Marathon & Metric Marathon on race weekend. Collection times are between:
14:00 and 18:00 on Saturday 2nd September at Grosvenor Park
07:30 and 10:00 on race day at Chester Racecourse
If you have not collected your number by 10:00 on race day, the race charity may sell your place to another runner and they will keep all the proceeds from any sale to support their vital services.
Mini Marathon entry = £5.00
Mini Marathon entry + donation to our official race charity = minimum of £6 including a £1 donation to Northern Lights Children's Charity. The cost may be more if you decide to donate more.
This is a fun run and not a race with the aim to involve as many people as possible. Everyone is a winner and there are no official timings or prizes.
Please note you are entering the Mini Marathon, a supporting event of the MBNA Chester Marathon on 3rd October.
*due to the lead time required, t shirts have been ordered based on our experience of required sizes. Sizes will be issued on a first come first served basis, when collecting your number.
If you decide you no longer want to take part and want to cancel your entry into the event, as per our terms and conditions your race place is non refundable and we do not offer deferrals.
Fun Run places are not transferable between runners, different events or years.
If we, as the event organiser, have to make the decision to postpone or cancel our event(s), we will make every reasonable effort to notify you and your race place will automatically be deferred free of charge, to the next scheduled race date for that event.
